Debbie Cutshall enters her second year as an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Emory & Henry University. Cutshall comes to Emory with over 30 years of volleyball experience. She is a 1995 graduate of King College where she played for the volleyball team, receiving the Female Athlete of the Year Award during her senior year. Her #14 jersey was retired by the College for her outstanding performances on and off of the court.
After graduation, Cutshall was the Head Volleyball Coach at Milligan College from 1995-2002. Her 1996 Buffaloes squad reached the NAIA National Tournament and she received Coach of the Year honors. During her seven years at Milligan, Cutshall finished with a winning record and had numerous athletes receive awards for their athletic and academic prowess.
Cutshall returned to her alma mater in 2004 as she restarted the softball program from scratch and led the Tornado on the softball diamond for two seasons. She took over the volleyball program at Tennessee High School for one season before taking a break from coaching to stay home with her children full-time. Cutshall has traveled abroad on multiple occasions to coach volleyball and help teach sports ministry. She was most recently a Program Administrator for the City of Kingsports Department of Parks and Recreation.
Cutshall earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in coaching from King College in 1995 and attained a Master of Arts in Sports Management from Liberty University in 2013. She is married to her husband Terry and they currently live in Blountville, Tennessee. The Cutshalls are parents to five children and have one grandson, Gideon. Her daughter Mollee is a freshman on the E&H volleyball team.
