Emory & Henry Men’s Wrestling Tabbed 13th In Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Wrestling Team has been picked to finish 13th in Conference Carolinas this year by the league's coaches.The poll was released by the Conference Carolinas office on Thursday.

Lander University was picked to win the league with 12 out of 14 first-place votes and 194 total points. Newberry was a close second with 186 points and the other two first-place votes. UNC Pembroke was picked third with 180 points, while King (Tenn.) collected 142 points to claim the fourth spot. Mount Olive (131) edged Belmont Abbey (126) to round out the top six.

Emmanuel (Ga.) (112) was seventh in the preseason poll followed by Limestone (102), Coker (101), Montevallo (97) and Allen (60). Lincoln Memorial (59), Emory & Henry (33), Bluefield State (27) and Shorter (25) rounded out the voting.

Additionally, Conference Carolinas has announced its Wrestlers to Watch List with junior Levi Field (Manassas, Va.), sophomore Sebastian Gaberrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) and redshirt freshman Evan Alger (Pulaski, Va.) making the list for the Wasps. 

Emory & Henry will open the season on November 2 in Glenville, West Virginia at the Glenville State Invite.
