Trevor Dowdell enters his first year on staff at Emory & Henry University after a five-year playing career for the Wasps as a linebacker and member of the defensive backfield. His new role will be as a defensive assistant as well as assisting with the special teams. 

Over his E&H career Dowdell played in 39 games, accumulating 48 tackles, three for loss, along with blocking two punts in back-to-back games during the 2024 season. Dowdell also excelled in the classroom as he was named to the ODAC All-Academic Team for the 2020-21 academic year as well as being selected to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll his final two years as a player. He was also selected as a member of the prestigious Hampshire Honor Society in 2025 which honors college football players from all divisions who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.
