Emory & Henry Baseball Earns Two Spots On The 2021 All-ODAC Teams

FOREST, Va. – Two players from the Emory & Henry College Baseball Team have received All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honors, ODAC officials announced Thursday. The teams are voted on by the 12 head coaches in the league.

Senior designated hitter Chandler Kezele (Marshall, Va.) and freshman outfielder Jared Foley (Sparta, N.C.) were both named to the All-ODAC Second Team. It is the fifth year in a row that the Wasps have seen multiple players honored as all-conference.

Kezele batted .369 with a team-leading six home runs, adding seven doubles, 21 RBI and 11 runs scored. He put together a .438 on-base percentage and a .754 slugging average as he reached base safely in all 17 games in which he played with a 16-game hitting streak. He had six multi-hit games, six multi-RBI games and four multi-run contests over the course of the season.

Foley posted a team-leading .427 batting average and also led the squad in hits (35), stolen bases (seven), sacrifice bunts (four) and on-base percentage (.466). He had a base hit in all 22 games in which he played and posted nine multi-hit games on the year. Foley notched a .463 slugging average with three doubles and added 15 runs, eight RBI and six walks.

Shenandoah University's Colby Martin was selected as ODAC Player of the Year. University of Lynchburg earned three of the five major awards as Brandon Pond was named ODAC Pitcher of the Year, Gavin Collins was tabbed ODAC Rookie of the Year and Hornet mentor was honored as ODAC Coach of the Year by his colleagues. Josh Greenway of Ferrum College was selected as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete by the league's sports information directors.
